Hello! I am Mary Hawkins and I am currently a student at Ivy Tech, majoring in elementary education. Once I finish my work at Ivy Tech will be transferring to Ball State to finish out my bachelors degree. After I graduate from Ball State I hope to get a job somewhere in/around the Muncie area and teach elementary.

I decided to become a teacher because I love working with the community and spending time getting to know others. School was always a safe space for me and I knew I was always welcome to talk with my teachers about anything, so I hope to be able to provide the same sense of safety and belonging to others.

I feel a strong desire to help empower and inspire the younger generation to do better than those before them, and want to encourage them to pursue the things they find a passion for and to show them it's okay to have different goals.

In my free time I enjoy crafting, playing with my dogs, spending time with my family and traveling. I love to get to know new people and am always looking for a new challenge.
